Carmen Versluis joined AIR January 2024 as Event Manager and is based in Northern California. She assists the team with all of their event needs, including in-person or virtual TechSprints, roundtables, showcases, and workshops set-up and execution.
Carmen graduated from Heald Business College in 1982 as a Legal/Administrative Secretary, which launched a career in a variety of senior administrative positions across many industries, including finance. In 2000 Carmen graduated from Sacramento City College with an Associates degree in Bookkeeping and Office Management.
During Carmen’s career, her most memorable moment was retiring from the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) after nearly 10 years of service. Her final position was on the RegTech team, which she was part of founding. There she assisted in organizing and launching the FCA’s TechSprints program including events focused on pensions, money and mental health, financial crime, regulatory reporting, and financial access and inclusion. Prior to joining the RegTech team, Carmen also worked in Supervision, Authorizations, Risk and as the Senior Administrative Assistant to the COO.
Carmen is passionate about women's empowerment, often mentoring women and giving back to her community. She is a married mother of six, Oma to three grandchildren and has two Jack Russells that immigrated back to the U.S. with her in 2019. Carmen enjoys riding her Harley Davidson, traveling, music, movies, gardening and helping others to succeed.
