AIR is launching Battlefront: Fraud in the Age of AI, an interactive simulation event addressing the rise of AI-enabled and AI-driven fraud. As AI evolves from being just a tool to becoming an autonomous agent in both fraud and defense, the battleground is rapidly changing. Over two days, experts and stakeholders will explore how AI can amplify human deception or operate independently to outsmart defenses. Teams will use agentive and agentic AI to design fraud scenarios and build next-generation defenses, powered by behavioral insights and cutting-edge technology, reflecting a world where fraud is no longer solely human-led.
Dates: June 23 – 24, 2025
Location: The Convene – 600 14th Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20005
Participants will begin with a virtual boot camp designed to cover logistics and provide an overview of the event.
Participants will: develop AI-powered fraud schemes leveraging advanced technology; craft defense strategies to detect and neutralize AI-driven fraud; and use design-thinking and workshopping techniques to ideate and refine solutions.
Teams will present their strategies in an interactive face-off, where fraud teams will launch AI-powered attack scenarios, and defense teams will counteract them by demonstrating cutting-edge solutions.
Participants will tackle real-world fraud challenges shaped by AI’s evolving capabilities, uncovering emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for defense.
Key areas of focus will include:
• Deepfake-enabled scams in traditional finance, crypto, and public payment systems
• GenAI-powered social engineering, ransomware, and Trojan attacks
